Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEILEEN ROSE BUCHKO It is with great sadness to announce that Eileen passed away peacefully after a courageous struggle with cancer at the Arborg and District Health Care Center in the early hours of March 12, 2009 at the age of 60 years. She was predeceased by her father Kazimir Stoyanowski in 1989. She is survived by her beloved husband Don, sons Heath, Bret and Waylon (Danelle) and one grandson Blake, her mother Gladys Stoyanowski and her mother-in-law Rose Buchko. Eileen loved her family and always loved to be near her grandson Blake. Eileen was born in Gimli, Manitoba on August 15, 1948 to Gladys and Kazimir Stoyanowski. She attended school in Arborg and furthered her education at the teachers college in Winnipeg where she received her diploma in teaching. Her first year of teaching was in Winnipeg Beach and then moved on to teaching in Arborg. On August 30, 1969, she married her sweetheart Don Buchko in Arborg Manitoba. She decided to stay at home and raise her three boys which meant the world to her. She worked at the family business until her illness. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Eileen faced everything with determination, courage and strength. She had a strong belief in all things that were good in life. She lived with the saying Don't waste your energy to worry, use your energy to believe . She had wonderful sense of humour and an infectious laugh and she could always laugh at herself. She was a very special person who gave of herself and never wanted anything in return. Eileen was a local historian who studied and remembered many descendents of the area. Her hobbies included scrap booking, cooking, crafts, travelling and gardening (like her father, she planted her vegetables in perfectly straight rows with the vegetables exactly two to three inches apart). She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. As per Eileen's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service at the Roman Catholic Church in Arborg, Manitoba will be held at later date. A celebration of Eileen's life with family and friends will take place after this service. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the Arborg and District Hospital. Your caring and understanding were much appreciated. Thanks to the family and friends who spend time at the house and the hospital during Eileen's illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arborg and District Multicultural Heritage Village, Box 4007 Arborg, Manitoba R0C 0A0. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
