KENNETH OVERBY Ken died peacefully at home Saturday, March 14, 2009 at age 68. He is survived by Glenda, his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 40 years, and their siblings. The oldest of six children, Ken was predeceased by his beloved mother Peggy; father Elmer and buddy / brother-in-law Doug. Ken was a very determined man, loving adventure and challenges. He had travelled the world extensively as a young man and later with Glenda. He enjoyed his careers in transmission line and municipal engineering projects and especially his computer consulting service breathing new life into sad Macs . He lived life fully and said he had accomplished everything he wanted. Ken was an unforgettable personality who tackled his disease as he did his life - with gusto. He was aided in this struggle by the remarkable team at CancerCare, Dr. M. Rubinger, Tiffany, Jane, Marc, Shannon, Irene and the skilled, caring squad of the Chemo Unit. Their concern and compassionate support helped him survive his 17 year ordeal. An avid boater for many years, he so appreciated those who enabled him to enjoy the last seasons on the Whiskey Jack - Arleen and Hans, Wayne, Trent, Kam and Bill. Ken's last journey home was aided by Lois, Mo, the Warrens: Marsha, Terry, and Wayne; Al, Hardy and Allan Mann. No words can express our gratitude and appreciation. His heart is here with me, His spirit drinks with mine. No funeral service by request.
