JANICE DIANA PENLINGTON 1935 - 2009 Janice Diana Penlington (Friesen) passed away peacefully on Saturday March 14, 2009 with her family by her side at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario. Janice was predeceased by her husband David Penlington. She was the amazing mother of four children and four step children; Carla McDonald (Bob Moorhouse), Audrey Batters (Ted), Tammy Patenaude (Gilles), David McDonald (Sherry), Barb Heagy (Tom), Arlene Thomas, Peter Penlington (Sharon) and Ping. Janice's greatest joy in life was to spend time with her grandchildren. All eighteen of them! Corey, Daniel, Joel, Shayne, Shannon (Russ), Kristen, Melissa, Joshua, Cody, Maegan, Lara, Brittany, Rebecca, David, Jordan, Ruth, Ben and Sean. Janice was also blessed with a great granddaughter Paige. Janice was born in Steinbach, Manitoba to Adina Jonas Friesen. She was one of seven children. She has remained close to the hearts of all her brothers sisters; Bert Friesen (Gladys), Marlene Singbeil, Bruce Friesen, Carol Buhay (Fred) Bob Friesen (Betty), and Brian Friesen (Angele). Joyce Fielding (Ron D). Janice held positions with Equitable Life Insurance both in Manitoba and in Ontario where she retired as head of Branch Administration. She enjoyed life to the fullest, never complaining, never wanting, and only giving. She devoted her extra time volunteering with a literacy group and with Adopt a Granny' where she spent many hours with mothers and their babies who did not have family support nearby. She touched the lives of all who knew her. We thank God for her presence in all of our lives. A funeral service will take place on March 22 in Kitchener Ontario. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association.
