Marjorie was born March 1, 1924 in Port Alberni, BC. She received her nurses training in Vancouver, BC at Essendale, St. Paul's Hospital and UBC. She was a public health nurse in the Victoria, BC area for many years and retired from the Royal Jubilee Hospital in 1985. Marjorie enjoyed travelling, gardening and hosting garden parties in her back yard gazebo. Her sewing talents provided her with a way to volunteer and fundraise for disabled children with the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children in Victoria. She was a member of the Order of the Royal Purple, as well as the Victoria Orchid Society. Marjorie was generous with her time and talents, and knew how to enjoy a good laugh. Karen and Wyatt Omichinski and family would like to thank all who supported us in caring for Our Marjorie. From the time she required help in Victoria, BC until the time of her passing at East Gate Lodge, she received wonderful care. Marjorie appreciated all that was done for her. We are grateful for having Marjorie's friendship for many years, and for receiving her wisdom and guidance. A memorial service will be held at East Gate Lodge Chapel, James Avenue, Beausejour on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Marjorie may be made to East Gate Lodge Personal Care Home, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.
