GILBERT BENEDICTSON Suddenly, but after a lengthy illness, Gilbert passed away on March 18, 2009 at the EM Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale at age 76. Gilbert was predeceased by his parents Fyji and Asta Benedictson, his brother-in-law Raymond Danielson and nephew Kenneth Danielson. Left to mourn and miss him are his only sister Kristine Danielson and her family Colleen and Gary Appleyard and their children Brock, Troy and Delaney and his great-nephew Bradley. Gilbert was born in Lundar, August 16, 1932. He lived and farmed with his parents in the Otto District until they retired and moved to Lundar in 1960. Gilbert loved the farm life and continued to work as a farmhand for several farmers in the Lundar area until he retired in 2003. Gilbert was a gentle man with a love for the simple things in life, he was happiest when he was close to nature hunting with family and friends. Later in life he enjoyed drives in the country and watching the birds. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the Lundar Legion Hall with Mrs. Cindy Thorkelson officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the hall. Interment at the Otto Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brock Appleyard, Troy Appleyard, Kent Eirickson, Kyle Gleich, Welland Thorgilsson, Ernie Benedictson, Stan Jonasson. The family wishes to thank Dr. Burnet and all the home care, personal care home and hospital staff for their care and support.
