EDNA BROWN (nee Craig) On March 18, 2009 Edna passed away peacefully in her sleep, to be reunited with her husband Joe. Edna is survived by her daughter Jo-anne (Patrick) and her beloved grandchildren Jennifer and Shannon; her sister Jean (Jack) Oatway; brothers Jim Craig and Tom (Evelyn) Craig, as well as many other extended family members and friends. Edna will be remembered as an incredibly independent person raising her daughter alone after her husband died. She loved her times with family at Hillside Beach; she enjoyed playing cards, travelling with friends and her memories with the St. James Rebecca Lodge. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff for the wonderful care received during Edna's stay at Golden West Centennial Lodge. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6 on behalf of Edna and Joseph's memory. To an Aunt who gave my young life purpose. When I saw how she managed all the hardships presented to her, I knew that whatever life sent my way I would be a survivor because my Aunt Edna was a living example.
