Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN MINAKER December 17, 1921 - March 20, 2009 Peacefully with her family at her side on March 20, 2009 Mother passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital. Mom is survived by her daughter Jessie; son Jim (Janet); grandson Philip; brother Sandy Tennant (Annetta); sisters-in-law Vi Tennant, Hilda Tennant and Marguerite Minaker and nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1994; her parents Jack and Maggie Tennant; brothers Scotty and Jim Tennant; sisters Peggy Middler and Jewell Currie. Mom and Dad were married in 1939 and farmed in the Rosser area all their lives. In 1955 Mom went to work at Mid West Quilting and then Major Quilting for 47 years retiring at the age of 78. Mom enjoyed life, she loved to bake, garden, knit and sew but her greatest passion was always her family and many friends. Mom was always positive and armed with a good story and a good sense of humour. Special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion during Mom's stay. Also thank you to Michelle Loehmer, Vivianne Heller, Marie McRae, Dorothy Braun, Helen Liebrecht and Laverne McMillan for their home care services. In compliance with Mom's wishes no formal service will be held. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grosse Isle Recreation Club, Box 74, Grosse Isle, MB, R0C 1G0 or The Children's Wish Foundation-South Interlake Chapter.
