Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN HENRY DOYLE November 12, 1927 - March 20, 2009 John was born in Manigotagan, Manitoba and lived most of his life in Manigotagan, Winnipeg and five years in Regina, Saskatchewan. Survived by his loving wife Mary; children, Kathy Bent, Jim Doyle (Fran), Clifford Dempster (Grace), Anna Doyle, Philip Doyle, Marianne Trapp (Dale) and Ted Dempster (Lori), 18 grandchildren, eight great-grand-children and his three sisters, Margaruite, Annie and Bridget; along with sisters-in-law, Bella, Mildred; and his brother-in-law Clifford. Predeceased by his parents, Philip and Annie Doyle (nee Boulette); sister Mary (Stub) Barker; brother Philip Doyle; his precious daughter Angele Chartier; his first wife Angele Doyle (nee Guimond) and numerous other family members and friends. John went to school in Manigotagan. Early in his career he worked at Swift Packers and then to Green Cross Chemicals where he worked for over 30 years. Once retired, he worked for three years at Princess Auto where he made many wonderful friends. John was an avid golfer and always planted flowers and vegetable gardens that he tended with Mary and with lots of TLC. Most of all he loved nature, the great outdoors and spending time at his Manigotagan cottage which he built himself with the help of his sons, nephews and many friends. John was a highly conscientious and generous man who at one point was called a walking dictionary a genius of sorts , as family and friends could never touch on a topic that he was not well informed about. His favourite charity was Siloam Mission which he supported for years. In addition to Siloam, he also supported the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society and the National Ovarian Cancer Association. John's biggest love though was his large extended family. He was always there for everyone in good times and bad times. Christmas was a special time because he loved Jesus so and it was a time when the whole family would get together for Christmas dinner at Blessed Sacrament Hall because no one had a large enough hall to fit the Doyles and the many friends who would join the dinner. On Halloween, he loved the looks on the children's faces when he handed out big chocolate bars for their treat. Pallbearers: Collin Doyle, John Dempster, John Munnik Jr., Christopher Dempster, Kevin Trapp, Jason Kudlik and honorary pallbearers: Jack Swain and Todd Barker. The family would like to thank the staff on 3 East and Riverview Health Centre, especially Dr. Goddard and nurses, Helen and Marlene for the tender care they extended our husband, Dad, grandfather and friend. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Siloam Mission, 300 Princess Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3, in honour of John.
