MARY COOPER (CASCAGNETTE) Peacefully on March 20, 2009 Mom passed away at Tuxedo Villa at the age of 96. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Frank Cooper in 1957 and her son, Gary Cooper in 1994. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Shirley (Bob), Joan, Marilyn and Jim (Bonnie), 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mom was born in Penetanguishene, Ontario on February 10, 1913. Married in 1932 in Orillia, Ontario where Mom and Dad resided until moving the family to Winnipeg in 1948. From 1957 to 1981 Mary lived mainly in the West End of the city. Something that started as a weekend getaway in Winnipeg Beach turned in to the place Mom called home when she permanently moved to Sandy Hook in 1981. In Mom's younger years she enjoyed dancing, playing cards and being with friends and family. Mom loved playing bingo and her many excursions to Shooting Star as well as the trips to Las Vegas. The family would like to thank the staff at Tuxedo Villa for their excellent care for the past five years. A celebration of Mom's life will be held on Wednesday, March 25 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
