RUTH F. IVERSON 1912 - 2009 Most beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother at almost 97 years of age in Santa Barbara, California. Born to Wilford A. and Emma Lemon in Winnipeg, MB August 1, 1912. Ruthie was the last of five siblings (Gus, Sylvia, Ken, and Edward.) She is survived by her son and daughter, Marshall Iverson (sp. Kathleen) and Robyn Mamath (sp. Gene), who reside in Southern California. Her six grandchildren include Stephen, Brian, Colleen and Katie Iverson; and Jon and Jean Aasted. Ruthie is also survived by eight great-grandchildren: Paul and Grant (Stephen and Paula Iverson); Jaydon (Brian and Deanna Iverson); Jon-Frederick, Mitchell, and Michael (Jon and Corina Aasted), and Moriah and Ava Aasted (Jean and Jessie). Ruth lived through the First World War, the Great Depression, and the Second World War. Moving to Santa Barbara, CA in 1956 she raised, as a single mom in California, her children Marshall and Robyn. Her passions included competitive ice skating, painting and piano playing providing great enjoyment to all around her. She walked daily and kept abreast of our troubled world events until peacefully passing in her sleep March 14, 2009. Throughout her life she was about loving, caring, and having a positive approach to life's journey and challenges - you must keep a good sense of humour. This will be her legacy and is embodied in and will be carried forward by all her survivors. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at St. Marks Episcopal Church, 2906 Nojoqui Ave., Los Olivas, CA, 1:00 p.m. March 27, 2009. In lieu of flowers please contribute to your favourite charity.
