DOLORES RAINE YETMAN (nee OLSON) July 19, 1928 - March 20, 2009 Peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2009 Dolores passed away with her family by her side. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband Earl, of 57 years; her children, Norman (Lynne), Keith (Tammy) and Carolyn (Mark); her daughter-in-law Mona; her grandchildren, Megan, Kristen, Jaclyn, Jeffrey, Katrina, and Jesse, as well as many other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her father Norman, her mother Doris, her brother Glenn and sons, Grant and Glennie. Dolores was born on July 19, 1928 to parents Norman and Doris Olson. As a child she was raised and attended school in Elmwood. As a young woman she worked at Great West Life until she was married. Dolores married Earl on September 8, 1951 at the age of 23 and together they had five children. Dolores stayed home to raise her children and was always supportive of Earl as he established the family business. Throughout their marriage Dolores and Earl enjoyed travelling, bringing back with them many memories and stories that are still talked and laughed about today. Their destinations included a trip to England so Dolores could visit her pen pal Elizabeth with whom she has exchanged letters with for over 65 years. Dolores had the most amazing sense of humour; she could make anyone laugh whether it was by telling a story, or just making a witty comment. She faced everything with determination, courage and strength. Dolores was an active member of the Atlantic-Garden City United Church and volunteered for various organizations. She was extremely devoted to her family and especially loved taking care of her grandchildren. She loved to knit and needlepoint special gifts for family and friends which will be cherished forever. Dolores will be missed greatly by her family and friends. She was an amazing person and anyone who was fortunate enough to know her will never forget her. We will miss you. xoxox The family would like to thank Dr. Finlayson and staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital for all of your care and kindness. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, Winnipeg, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Atlantic-Garden City United Church Memorial Fund or CancerCare Manitoba. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Send expressions of sympathy to www.mem.com
