STUART HARVEY EASTON Suddenly, unexpectedly, at home sleeping peacefully, Saturday, March 21, 2009, aged 56. Stuart is survived by his sister Pat Easton and her partner, John McGregor, Aunt Madeline Gibson, Aunt and Uncle Vera and Morgan Turner and Aunt Joan Koeppel; also many, many cousins - to name just a very few, with whom as a boy he spent every long, wonderful Manitoba summer in the Killarney area, the Turner clan, Robert, Bruce, Dennis and Joanne, the Barnes clan, Andy and Bonnie (Elgin). For many adult years he continued to vacation each summer at the Turner homestead and cherished these memories always - the absolute highlight of every year for Stu. Stu's longest stint at formal education was at old King Edward School in the North End where he was pretty much prepped in the ways of the world and prepared for real life. In about 1973 he landed a job in the old CNIB canteen in the Grace Hospital. He loved it and gave it his everything, becoming well known among hospital staff. We understand he was renowned for his Denver omelette. All good things come to an end and the canteen closed down shortly after Stuart had to leave his job in 1987 because of epilepsy attacks which began to worsen. Undeterred, Stu became a man about town - his favourite haunts were Polo Park, Grant Park, Portage Place and the Sals. Many stop-ins were made at the local Mac's on Corydon and Mona Lisa Restaurant across the street. Heartfelt thanks for many kindnesses shown to Stu by the staffs at both of these spots and by many security staff at the malls. Stuart was predeceased, so many years ago, by his Dad, Harvey Maxwell (1967), Mom Edith Lloyd (1981) and sister Andrea Edith (1972). Grief is the price we pay for love. (Queen Elizabeth II on the death of her mother.) Memorial service will be held at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 27. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, donations might be directed to the Children's Hospital Research Foundation or the Winnipeg Humane Society. As kids, we all grew up together on Manitoba Avenue in Winnipeg. I hold in my heart many fond memories of the Easton family. My brothers Ian and Allister and I (Robert) lived next door to Pat, Andrea, Stuart, and their parents. Stuart and I use to have some good conversations across the fence or at the bus stop. He will greatly be missed as his loved ones' before him. Blessings, Robert Davidson - Posted by: Robert Davidson (Next door neighbor Manitoba Avenue) on: Apr 01, 2016
