JULIUS GUDMUNDUR SNIFELD Julius Snifeld passed away suddenly with his family by his side on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the Arborg District Health Centre. Julius was born at Finns, MB on May 1, 1938 and lived most of his life in Riverton, MB. He held various jobs through the years before retiring from the Village of Riverton, then continued to work at Hecla Gull Harbour Resort and spent the last few years caring for his wife. He enjoyed fishing, visiting family and friends, watching his grandchildren play hockey and spending time with his great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 45 years Jessie, his parents Hyrmann and Gudlaug, brothers Kristjan and Albert and step-son Curtis. Left surviving are four children, Sherry (Larry), Leslie (Lori), Larry (Linda), Tammy (Rob), grandchildren Waylon, Kayla, Roger, Solita (Cody), Krystal, Jordan, Tiory, Blain, Brett and Trent, great-granddaughter Jalyn, sisters Sigurbjorg Lupky, Emily Gislason, Sigurros Johnston, Beatrice Johnston, all from Arborg, brother John Snifeld of Winnipeg, brother-in-law Ernie Collins of Winnipeg and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors of the Arborg District Health Centre for their loving care and compassion they showed dad in his final days. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Arborg District Health Centre. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Riverton Rec Centre, Riverton, Manitoba with Pastor Trudy Thorarinson officiating Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
