MARY JUCE It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary (Rehaluk) Juce on March 22, 2009 at the age of 80. Mary was born in Rorketon, MB on March 16, 1929 to William and Eva Rehaluk. After graduating from grade 12 at a private school in Yorkton, SK, she took her teachers training in Winnipeg at Normal School. She taught from 1948, at many schools, Micawber, Rorketon and McBride. In 1949 to 1950 she taught grades three, four and five in Rorketon where she met the love of her life, Adam Juce who was the principal of the one room high school. They were married August 8, 1950 at the Ss. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rorketon. Shortly after their wedding the couple moved to Basswood, MB. Mary taught at McBride School, grades one to eight from 1950 to 1952 and in Basswood from 1952 to 1955. On June 1, 1955 their first son, Brian Adam was born. In 1959 the family moved to Dauphin where their second son David Michael was born on September 21, 1957. Mary enjoyed baking, gardening, bowling and mall walking. The family spent most of their summers at their cottage by Lake Dauphin, golfing, fishing and sitting by the shores watching the sun rise. Mary was an active volunteer at the Senior Centre and a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Dauphin. She leaves to grieve, her beloved husband of 58 years, Adam; son Brian (Irmgard) Juce of Brandon, grandchildren, Michael (Dawn Askin) and Andrea McEwen; son David (Karen) Juce of Hamiota, grandchildren, Michael, Marion, Eveline; brothers, Michael (Rose) Rehaluk of Toronto, Bill (Gloria) Rehaluk of Winnipeg; and sister Jean (Harry) Chornoboy of Winnipeg and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of friends. Prayers will be said on Thursday, March 26 at 8:00 p.m. at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Dauphin by the Reverend Father Oleg Bodnarski, Funeral liturgy on Friday, March 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the church. A luncheon reception will follow the interment at the Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Mary to CancerCare Manitoba.
