Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Gertie and I were on the 1951 Kresgies softball team. She was a wonderful athlete, playing first base and one of our top batters. Both working at Eatons, we shared many conversations until I left Eatons in 1967. We bumped into each other at Eatons Retirement luncheons also while I was walking in Kildonan Park last year, while Gertie was watching a slow pitch game, we stopped to chat. Her beauty and personality never left her. I have two photos of our team if a relative would contact me I would gladly pass them onto you. - Posted by: Shirley Brown (Acquaintance) on: Mar 27, 2009

  • Sandi and Rick, I was so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. You and your families are in my thoughts and prayers. Aunt Gertie was very special to me, and I have many wonderful memories of visiting Garson and Winnipeg during the summers growing up, and spending time with all of you. Aunt Lore and I will always appreciate how helpful she was to us after Uncle Jimmy's passing. Though distance kept us from visiting in person, we kept in touch by phone. May your precious memories of your mom give you comfort during the difficult days ahead. Love, Renee - Posted by: Renee Granken (Family) on: Mar 25, 2009
