Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLESLIE (LASZLO) MAROSVARI Peacefully, on Friday, March 20, 2009 at Extendicare Oakview Place, Leslie Marosvari passed away at the age of 74 years. Leslie was predeceased by his wife, Herta and his brother, two sisters and his parents. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Veronica (Peter) Blanchard; grandchildren, Sarah and Ryan Blanchard, all of Calgary; and stepson Fred (Carol) Gunzel; and grand-daughter, Claire, all of Winnipeg, and family in Hungary. Leslie was born in Miskolc, Hungary on September 6, 1934. He left Hungary during the revolution in 1956 and immigrated to Canada. His new life in Canada began in northern Ontario, working in the mining industry for a few years. He moved to Winnipeg in 1960 and began a lengthy career at Swift's Packers till its' closing in 1979. He then continued working at Burns till his retirement in 1999. Les and Herta met in 1960 and were married on February 29, 1964. Together they enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, gardening, fishing, boating, and walking. In his later years, Dad also enjoyed going home to Hungary to visit family. Dad will be remembered for his helpfulness to his family, friends and neighbours. He also had a strong will which helped him battle a brain tumor until it was time for him to begin his new journey. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Extendicare Oakview Place for their excellent care, kindness and compassion, with special thanks to Eleanor, Inez and Nivian.
