Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH SARAH DAWSON (nee SCOTT) January 4, 1922 March 20, 2009 Peacefully on March 20, 2009 Mom passed away at home at the age of 87 years. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband John in 1991. She is survived by sister Sydna McCormack, sons Fred, Bruce and Dave, daughters-in-law Dale, Mary and Leslie, grandchildren, Carrie, Jillian, Clinton, Steven, Laura and Scott, great-grandchildren Joshua Jack and Lauren Elizabeth. Elizabeth had numerous accomplishments, she was active in the United Church of Canada, Grand Matron of Eastern Star, a posthumous 60-year service award from Eastern Star this June 2009. Elizabeth held a Masters in Education (U of M) and taught Business Education at St. John's High School as well as teaching English as a second language. Elizabeth helped paint the dioramas at the Museum of Man and Nature. She experimented with oils, acrylics, water colors, pastels, charcoal and pencil and later in life delved into Chinese calligraphy, preparing her own ink and designing her own chop block. Early in life, Mom realized the connection between the business world and computers; she had a Macintosh almost 40 years ago. Three computers later, Mom has the XP OS. Mom was passionate about her love of God, family, gardening, golf, and volunteering. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
