MICHAEL (MIKE) MEDA After a courageous battle with cancer, Mike Meda passed away March 23, 2009, at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, MB, at the age of 78. Mike was born to John and Katharine Meda on September 29, 1930 in Prince Albert, SK. He began farming in Lonesand in the 1950s and later worked for A.P. Green for 28 years as a mason. He returned to Lonesand in 1985 and began farming again. In 1991, Mike married Helen Pachniosky Mydaniuk. In 1997, he was diagnosed with cancer and always faced his illness with courage until the very end. He is survived by his wife Helen; two brothers, Joe (Irene) of Headingly and John (Rose) of Lonesand, and their families. He was predeceased by his parents and one sister Anne. A memorial service will be held Monday, March 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach. Ash interment will take place at Ridgeland Cemetery near Sundown, MB.
