Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE PASCAL (nee MICHEIKIN) With family as her most important focus, Rose embraced life with vitality and gave of herself in every way she knew. She passed away in Toronto on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at the age of 95. Born in Slutsk, Russia, she came to Canada at the age of 14 with her family, settling in Winnipeg. There she met Saul Pascal, who became her partner in love and in life. They married in 1935 and together had a rich and fulfilling life, delighting in family and friends, and perpetually active in communal and Jewish causes, in Winnipeg, nationally, and on behalf of Israel. They raised three children, Ed Pascal (Rhoda), Evvie Craig (John), and Paul Pascal (Ruth Rohn). Rose lost her best friend when Saul died in 1996 on their annual vacation in Florida. A loving grandmother, she savoured her time with her eight grandchildren, Randall Craig (Linda), Kelly Craig-Schwartz (Arthur), Melanie Rouhi (David), David Craig (Christie), Bonnie Pascal (Jerry Austin), Tammy Revizada (Danny), Marla Krakower (Daniel Wolgelerenter), and Yoni-Shalom Rohn-Pascal. She was beloved by her 13 great-grandchildren, Shale, Jacqueline and Sabrina Craig; Jordyn and Devin Craig-Schwartz; Naomi and Lilah Rouhi; Tyler Craig; Aaron Austin; Raquelle and Rebecca Revizada; and Nathan and Noah Wolgelerenter. Rose was predeceased by her brother Percy Micheikin, and her sisters Mona Slotin, Fanny Grichanik, and Clara Fineblit. Our thanks to the caregivers at Baycrest Centre in Toronto for making her last years in that city so comfortable. Funeral Wednesday, April 1, 2:00 p.m. at Chesed Shel Emes. Shiva Wednesday evening, 280 Harvard St.; in Toronto from Thursday on. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gwen Sector Creative Living Centre, or the charity of your choice.
