MARCEL TOUZIN On Tuesday, March 31, 2009, Marcel Touzin passed away suddenly at his home, at the age of 71. He will be deeply missed by his wife Dorothée (née Savard), his son Robert (Cindy Fletcher) and daughter Monique (Roger Daignault), and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Cody and Sebastien, and Amanda, Nathan, Darrian and Ameerah. Born in Saint-Jean-Baptiste on January 17, 1938, he is predeceased by his father Germain, his mother Alice (née Clément) and older brother Roger (January 2009). Married on September 17, 1966, he spent his working years in various locations in Ontario and northern Manitoba, as a journeyman plumber, and at St. Boniface and Misericordia Hospital in planning positions. Marcel was very involved with the Knights of Columbus, his church and various community projects. He was on the board of directors for the construction of l'Accueil Colombien, as well as on the board of directors for the Oblate Sisters, and more recently volunteered to work on the addition of a new wing for l'Accueil. He is survived by his brother Aurèle (Diane Lemoine) and sister Rita (Louis Manaigre) and sister-in-law Jeannine Touzin (née Massinon), as well as by brothers-in-law Paul Savard (Jeannine Lecocq) and Gilbert Savard (Roxane Sarrasin), and sister-in-law Lise (Richard Bzdega), and by many nieces and nephews also saddened by his untimely passing. Marcel will be remembered for his joviality and the warm and simple way he made everyone feel at ease. He loved traveling, especially visiting sites of old civilizations, the mountainous terrain out west and the beautiful fall colors in the east. Funeral mass will be held in St. Boniface Cathedral at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2009, with viewing thirty minutes prior. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 (phone 949-2000).
