Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT ARTHUR MCAUGHEY April 14, 1916 - April 1, 2009 On April 1, 2009 Albert passed away at the Riverview Health Centre. Left to cherish his memory are his three children and their spouses, Bruce McAughey and Heather Patterson, Brian McAughey and Anne Peterdy, Brenda McAughey and Harley Scott; his grandchildren Tanis (Joel), Troy (Andria), Andrea, Meghan, Darryl, Brent, Eric, Kevin, Ryan (Jo-Anne), Darcy (Troy), Dale; great-grandchildren Alex, Cheyenne, Kayleigh, Kiera, Brett, T.J. Also left to mourn: his brother Len his wife Doris; Anna's children John (Claudette) Hiebert, Edith (Hubert) Alards, Linda (Dave) Muise, and their families. He was predeceased by his first wife Helen, daughter Lois Gunn, and his second wife Anna. Dad was born in St. Boniface and in his early years rode the rails working across Western Canada. During the Great Depression he worked in logging camps in Ontario and subsequently retired from Canada Packers after more than 40 years of service. Albert married his first wife Helen Pfeil on August 3, 1940. They moved to St. Vital and raised their family. After retirement they travelled south for the winter and spent their summers at Deception Lake with family and friends visiting the family cottage. Dad married his second wife Anna on February 17, 1996 and they lived at Riverside Lions Estates in St.Vital where they had many good friends. Albert and Anna enjoyed many vacations across Canada and the U.S.A. Dad was fiercely independent, living on his own until March, 2009. Devotion to his family, integrity and hard work were his hallmarks. He was an exceptional husband, father, father-in-law, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. A funeral service will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on April 8, 2009. Reception to follow after service.
