PAUL RAYMOND SIGURDSON Peacefully, Paul passed away in the early hours of April 2, 2009 with his wife Fran at his side. Paul led an interesting and unique life travelling the world and making many friends and business associates around the globe. He started and ended his journey at the Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg. However, he travelled to all parts of the world in between. Some of his favourite places were Seoul, Hong Kong and Victoria. One of Paul's great loves was his business, Aerotech Herman Nelson, a company that he started with his father. Paul grew the company to be an international supplier of portable heating equipment. Paul was a true entrepreneur and loved business...retirement was never an option. Aerotech was very much a family business to Paul and his many longtime employees became family to him. Loyalty was appreciated and generously reciprocated. Paul viewed every challenge as an exciting opportunity and was often heard to say bad start...good ending citing this to be an Icelandic adage. In his earlier years, Paul was very active in the aviation industry as a pilot and also as a buyer and seller of aircraft. From this emerged his love of all things surplus. Paul was a gifted humourist. He had an infectious laugh and loved a good joke or story and often found himself the main character in a humourous tale. Any gathering with Paul would surely end up with laughter as he could always see the bright side of life. Paul was ahead of his time in many respects. He had a love of technology and innovative communication equipment. Paul recognized the benefit and was one of the first to have a fax, a cell phone and a company website. Paul was always in touch! Memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg, across from Brookside Cemetery.
