FRANK POERSCH SCHALLA 1922 - 2009 THE ACCORDION GUY Dad passed away March 31, 2009 in Nanaimo, BC at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Maria Schalla, his first wife Anne, second wife Doris, and his son-in-law John. Frank is survived by his brother Max (Susan) and their family, daughters, Juliet (Alec) Vewcharuk of Melville, SK, Marilyn (Ken) Henschel of Tyndall, MB, Lorna Putschker of Winnipeg, MB, Tomi (Gerald) Bowker of Winnipeg, MB; grandchildren, Loretta, Jesse, Tyson, Darcy, Marcia, Crystal, Jason, Aaron, Caitlyn, step-grandsons, Chad and Cal, 10 great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. Dad was born near Steinbach, MB. His working life was in the Winnipeg area in Mink Ranching, and later as an Assistant Foreman at the University of Manitoba, Department of Animal Science. Eventually he retired to Nanaimo where he enjoyed sharing his accordion music, whether on the waterfront, in personal care homes, or just for friends. He was a kind and gentle man and was much loved by his family and many friends and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Wexford Care Home, 80 Tenth Street, Nanaimo, BC. Sands Funeral home - Nanaimo 250-753-2032
