Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE KAMMINGA After a lengthy and courageous battle with diabetes, George died peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Grace Hospital. He was born in the Netherlands on November 8, 1945, and immigrated to Canada in 1951. His childhood years were spent in Carman, MB. George enjoyed 24 years working at Woodland Supply until he lost his vision in 2007. Although he was no longer able to go to the stadium, he faithfully tuned in to CJOB for every Bomber game. George loved to tease, tell stories, and have a good time with his family. We will always remember his beautiful smile! George is survived by his children, Kendall, Dean (Charlotte), Angie (Ferdinand), Stephen (Charlene), Chad (Lorien), and his brother Hank (Mary). He is also survived by his devoted wife Bev; her children, Gayle (Damian), Neil (Hannah) and dog Buster. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or CNIB. Me (Peter) and my brother (Frans) met George and his wife in 1977 when we were on vacation in Winnipeg. We cycled from Toronto to Vancouver) Two years later Peter and his wife Rina) We met George and his wife again. I'm very sorry to read that George has passed away some years ago.
