EDITH WINIFREDE OGDEN 1921 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Edith Winifrede Ogden (née Riley) on April 3, 2009 after a brief illness. She is survived by her son Dennis Ogden and his wife Claire; son-in-law Don Iwacha; and grandson Robert Iwacha. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert (Bud) Ogden; her daughter Clarice Elizabeth Iwacha; sisters Gwen Riley and Gladys Harrison; and brother Gordon Riley. Edith was born and grew up in Winnipeg. Her husband being in the Air Force, Edith and her family saw much of the country in various postings, including Dauphin, Calgary, Ottawa, Moncton, and northern Quebec, finally returning to Winnipeg in 1965. Her career in business included employment at the Cooperative Credit Union Society, and she was a member of the Astra Credit Union Board of Directors for many years. She was a member of the United Church Women's Association and active in the social life of Lindenholm Place where she lived. Her family and friends will remember and are grateful for her kindness and generosity. We would like to thank the staff of the Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care of Edith during her illness. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Harrow United Church, 955 Mulvey Avenue, Winnipeg with Reverend Teresa Moysey officiating.
