Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER NICHOLAS PUSHKA Peacefully, with family at his side, Peter Nicholas Pushka went to be with his Lord on April 3, 2009 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 79. Peter was born in Angusville, Manitoba on July 15, 1929. He is survived by his wife Vicki of 57 years; his children Laverne (Ken), Ken (Allyson) and Michelle (Corey); grandchildren Jordan, Lyndsay, Erik, and Jillian. He is also survived by a sister Gladys Bonchuk and many nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his parents Nellie and Peter, brother Eugene, sister Pauline, stepbrothers Fred, Paul, John, Bill and Mike. Born on his family homestead, Peter spent his early years on the farm, where he developed a love for the land. He married the love of his life, Vicki, and together they embarked on their new life by moving to Toronto for a brief duration. They returned to Winnipeg where Peter spent 37 years at MTS in various roles, retiring in 1991. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, and devoted much time and energy to the church, including being a founding member of St. Anne's parish. Peter's life centered around his family, where he enjoyed the gathering of friends and family, and in his later years the company of his four grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman, a handyman, and a friend to many. He will be remembered as a kind, caring, and loving person. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 455 Douglas Ave. Interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave. CHAPEL LAWN 885-9715
