ROBERT CHARLES MARTIN SR. May 27, 1937 - April 6, 2009 It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of Robert on Monday, April 6th, 2009 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 71 years. Remaining to cherish Robert's memory are his children; Bruce (Donna), Wade (Cheryl) of Winnipeg, MB, Darren (Joanne) of Kelowna, B.C., Robert Jr. of Thompson, MB, Dianne (Bob) of Squamish, B.C. also grandchildren, Craig (Tara), Robynn (Mike), Kimberly, Madison, Hannah, Nicholas, Brandi, Tyler, Alex, Bobby Jr. and Jesse, great-grandchildren, Tianna, Trista, Tori, Taylor, Cassie and Kaylee. He is also survived by his brothers, Ernest (Diane) of Thunder Bay, Ont., Stan (Darlene) of Lac du Bonnet, MB, Keith (Gwen) of Winnipeg, MB., and sister-in-law, Irene Martin of Fairford, MB., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Louise and Arther, brothers; Bruce and Norman. Robert was born in Marquette, Manitoba and grew up in Winnipeg. He married Jeannette Zinkowski Dec. 10, 1955. Spending his working years in the trucking industry (Kleysen's), his most memorable employment was with Greyhound Bus Lines. Robert spent many years at his summer home in St. Laurent and enjoyed his many gardens. A celebration of Robert's life will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. in the Eastern Star Chalet, 525 Cathcart Street, where Robert had resided for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's memory to a charity of your choice.
