FLORENCE ARLENE (PETERSON) OLSON April 5, 1936 - April 6, 2009 On April 6, 2009 Mom, of Woodlands, Manitoba, lost her battle with cancer. She will be missed by her husband of almost 55 years Edgar, twin daughters Linda (Tom) Crockatt and Edith (Ross) MacMillan as well as grandchildren Jay and Kyle Crockatt, Jody (Travis) Yeo, Jeff and Chris MacMillan and a very special friend Lorraine (Peter) Futros who Mom thought of as her own daughter. Also mourning her loss are her siblings Josephine Fruin, Jean Patterson, Allan (Jenny) Peterson, brother-in-law Harvey (Evelyn) Buchanan, sisters-in-law Agnes Olson, Barb Olson, Dorothy (Hector) Fleury plus numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Art and Annie Peterson, sister Audrey Buchanan, brothers-in-law Bill Fruin, Jim Patterson, David Olson and Emil Olson. She was also predeceased by nephews Art Fruin, Robert Patterson, Lloyd Olson, Terry Olson and Dale Fleury. Honourary pallbearers are Ben and Ursula Elskamp, George and Jean Griffin, Harvey and Evelyn Buchanan, Lloyd and Lorna Clegg and Robert and Betty McGrath. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall. According to Mom's wishes the service will conclude at the chapel. There will be a private family burial following the service. A special thank-you to the Elskamp family and Harvey and Evelyn Buchanan who have provided us with help and support far beyond anything we could ever have imagined.
