Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY VICTOR CHROMIAK Peacefully on April 5, 2009, Stanley passed away at the Betel Home in Selkirk at the age of 86 years. Stanley is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by his brother-in-law Robert Pearson of Federal Way, Washington; niece Marilyn Hall (Jerry) of Auburn, Washington; great-niece Brooke Parker; great-nephew Allan (Angela) Parker and great-great-nephew Jackson Parker. He was predeceased by his father Thomas in 1962, mother Mary in 1994, sister Adele in 1999, niece Diane Pearson in 1959 and nephew Allan Pearson in 2002. Stanley was born and raised in Melrose, MB. He moved to Garson with his parents in 1954. The family had a roadside stand in front of their home where they sold vegetables and fruit from their huge garden. Stanley and his mother ran the stand for many years and met a lot of people who came back year after year. Stanley also worked at the Manitoba Rolling Mills in Selkirk. He was a good cook and avid reader. He was also a welder and did a lot of work for different people. Stanley also loved to go for drives and check out the scenery and the fields in the summer. He loved to talk and you would often see his car at the restaurant in Garson where he could meet up with friends and neighbors for coffee. He was always willing to help friends and neighbors and was a man of his word and was a very respected man. Due to failing health he had to sell the family home in 2007 and move to Selkirk. He went into Betel in September of 2008. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with viewing from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in the Garson Cemetery. He will be greatly missed by his special friends and caregivers Romeo and Carlo Labossiere. Also missing him will be longtime friends Abe and Evelyn Krebs and many cousins and friends. Special thanks to nurses, doctors and staff of Betel Home, Selkirk for the wonderful care Stanley received and to Aileen Bukowski and family for all their help and concern. Many thanks to Gilbart Funeral Home for all their care and compassion at this difficult time and also thank you to the pallbearers. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
