IRIS BURON Peacefully on April 6, 2009, Iris Buron passed away at the age of 71 years. She leaves to mourn her children Aurie, Armand (Gail), Heidi (Richard), Derek, Veronica (Jean-Paul), Marni, and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents Martha and Joseph, her brother Ford (Elsie), and her husband Gottfried. Mom was born in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba in 1938, and lived in Winnipeg, Surrey and Burnaby. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved to take care of her family and those close to her. She was known as Mom to more than just her six children. Mom spent the last five years of her life as a volunteer for Adventist Community Services (ACS). She found great purpose in her work there, and held a special place in her heart for all the friends she made there. Many thanks go to Dr. Darcy Johnson and the 3rd floor nurses and staff at Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion in Mom's last days. At Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave on Thursday, April 9 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Iris's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
