Wedded Bliss and Never a Harsh Word , Clive's famous quote regarding 64 years with Bernice. His ready smile and warm spirit and sense of humour will be missed by many. Among them, longtime friend Ken Hunt of Hay River, N.W.T. and loyal friend Ray Gostick (Bernice's cousin). As a boy Clive was independent and resourceful searching out jobs even when they were scarce during the depression. In the early 40's Clive worked for The Bay as a weather monitor, at various northern posts including Baffin Island. After a short stint in the Army, he returned to The Bay and soon became a buyer of men's clothing for the north. Nine years later rejecting a transfer to Montreal he began a new career as an Employment Counselor at the Society for Crippled Children and Adults (Now S.M.D.). He spent over 20 years in this field, retiring in 1980. Many thanks to the caring staff of Kildonan Personal Care Centre.
