Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE YATES 1922 - 2009 George Yates, second son of Robert and Grace, died at home on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. George was born on August 2, 1922 in Winnipeg where he attended Prince Edward, Polson and Lord Wolseley (East Kildonan Collegiate) Schools. His career with the Canadian National Railway Transcona Shops began in 1940, which was interrupted during 1942 -1945 while he served his country with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Following the war he returned to the Transcona Shops, from which he retired in 1983. He lived a charitable, private and gentle life. George is survived by his brother Jim; nieces, Mardi, Shelley, Brenda, Sandra and Carolyn and nephews, Bruce, Michael, and Kelly. He was grateful for the recent care, kindness and friendship he received at Kildonan Personal Care Centre. At George's request, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.
