DAVID CHARLES REID August 23, 1939 - April 3, 2009 We are sad to announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather. David will be sadly missed by his loving wife Gail of 45 years; two daughters, Charlene in Peachland BC, Diana (Glen) and their two daughters Julia and Jenna in Winnipeg. David is survived by his sisters-in-law, Judy, Donna (Frank); brother-in-law Denton (Karen); his sister Lilias, nieces, nephews, many special cousins, relatives, and friends. His parents, David and Elizabeth, and his younger brother Victor predeceased David. David was born in Winnipeg and raised in the West End on Lipton Street. During his high school years he and some of his closest friends were Navy Cadets at the H.M.C.S. Chippawa. He graduated from Daniel McIntyre High School in 1957 and while raising his family went on to complete his Business Degree at the U. of M. He began his sales career at an early age and spent 49 years enjoying the feeling of getting the next sale! spending the last 16 years with W.H. Escott Co. Ltd. David loved his walks, bike rides, and picnics in the park with Gail. He was always so proud of his girls and loved coaching their softball, going on family camping trips, weekends at Spruce Sands, many trips to Las Vegas, and sleepovers with his granddaughters. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses for their care and support. A private family interment will take place, followed by a Celebration of Life Services at the Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd. at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009. If friends so desire, donations can be made in David's memory to ALS Society of Manitoba, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3J 9Z9 or Deer Lodge Centre Foundation at 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. No farewell words were spoken No time to say goodbye, You were gone before we knew it And only God knows why. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Send expressions of sympathy to www.mem.com
