ANNE SHIRLEY KENDYFORE (nee PENETELIUK) Peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the age of 84, Anne passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Janice (Marcel Ayotte), Susan (Tom Thompson), Sandra (John Fletcher), her loving grandchildren, Jason, Suzanne, Courtney; Michelle, Michael, David, Paul; her sister-in-laws, Helen Penteliuk, Mary Penteliuk, Teenie Simcoe, Pauline Holt and many nieces, nephews and friends. Anne was the last surviving sibling of her family of 11 children. She was predeceased by her husband John, parents Theodore and Dora Penteliuk; sisters Mary Wood, Sylvia Chmilowsky, Francis Penteliuk, Lillian Sleva, Pearl Oliver; brothers Nick, Alex and George Penteliuk, baby brother John and baby sister Helen. Anne was born in the Village of Arbakka, MB and moved to Winnipeg when she was 15. At age 17 Mom along with her sister Lil enlisted in the Navy. Anne proudly served as a Leading Wren from 1943 to 1946. Anne devoted her life to her children and grandchildren attending sporting events, concerts and all the special family gatherings. Everyone loved Mom's annual birthday calls and eating her wonderful cabbage rolls. Mom will always be remembered for her gentleness, kind nature and wonderful sense of humor. Anne's Celebration of Life will be held Monday, April 13, 2009 at 12:00 noon at the Winnipeg South Osborne Legion, 426 Osborne Street with Padre Killeen officiating.
