Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYVONNE MARIE ELIZABETH PICHE (nee Poitras) In her 92nd year, Yvonne Piché passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Oakview Extendicare. Yvonne was predeceased by her husband Philippe, her sisters, Cecile Richter, Marguerite Piché, her brothers Lucien, Theodore, Philippe and André. She is survived by her sisters Jeanne Albert, Terry Beaulieu, Claire Andre, Simone Lavoie and brothers Paul and Gerry, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Yvonne was born in St. Boniface, then the family moved to a farm in Fannystelle. She was one of 13 children born to Etienne Poitras and Alida Carrière. Part of Yvonne and Phil's married life was spent in Winnipeg where in 1950 they built a new home in Kirkfield Park. Yvonne was very much involved with the construction. In the early 1970s they moved back to Fannystelle where they grew an enormous garden. She enjoyed looking after her flowers and riding her lawn tractor. She also spent many hours creating beautiful quilts. A special thanks to the staff and caregivers of 3N Oakview for their love and kindness over the past four years. Funeral Services will be held in the Fannystelle Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Recitation of the Rosary at 1:30, Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. followed by cremation. Father John McKenzie and Father Armand LeGal officiating. Interment in the Fannystelle Parish Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. Adam's Funeral Home of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba in care of arrangements.
