DOREEN MCCURDY (LAWRENCE) It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Doreen Rose McCurdy, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, this ninth day of April, 2009. Doreen was predeceased by her mother Elizabeth; father Emile; and brothers, Robert (Bob) and Thomas (Tom). Left to mourn is her husband Bruce McCurdy of Winnipeg; sons, Darrell Ducharme (Marie), Winnipeg, Miles Ducharme (Shirley), St. Laurent, Manitoba, and Ashley McCurdy, Winnipeg. Also left are sisters and brothers, Gisele Hawkins (Jim), Ron Lawrence (Shirley), Lorraine Laramee (Carol) and Len Lawrence (Sharon) all of Manitoba; grandchildren, Rory, Halley, Alexei and Sydney Ducharme; and numerous nephews and nieces. Doreen's favourite past-time was the computer and bingo. Graveside service will be held Thursday, April 16, 2009 at The Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue at 1:00 p.m., with a memorial gathering at 3:00 p.m. at the Monte Cassino Legion, 1111 Logan Avenue at McPhillips Street. It is requested that in lieu of flowers, donations to be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 775-2220.
