DENNIS LLOYD SIGURDSON It is with profound sadness that the family of Dennis Sigurdson announces his sudden passing on Saturday, April 11, 2009. Dennis was born to Grimur and Thelma Sigurdson on April 1, 1945. He along with sister Donna were raised in the town of Lundar. As a young person Dennis spent a lot of time on his Amma and Afi Stefansson's farm east of town where he came to love animals and farming. He also excelled at hockey and baseball. Dennis married Barbara (Bull) of the Austin district in 1967. After living in several places throughout Manitoba and Alberta doing various jobs involving cattle they settled in the MacGregor area in 1974 when Dennis started employment with the Manitoba Department of Highways as a motor grader operator, retiring in 2005. Clinton Dennis was born in 1973 and Jodilyn Olaf in 1975. Dennis was very proud of his children and tried to support them in their school and sports endeavours. He also had a great love for horses and showed quarter horses throughout Manitoba in his younger years. He will also be missed by his dogs Butch and Buddy. Dennis was especially proud when Clint started to raise cattle of his own and he spent his retirement years helping out as much as he could. He also enjoyed his morning coffee with the boys at Wayne's Inn. He is survived by his wife Barbara; son Clint (Julie) of MacGregor; daughter Jodi of Portage; grandson Brock Dennis his pride and joy; sister Donna of Kelowna, BC; cousins Joe, Alice and William Erickson of Winnipeg and their families; brothers and sisters-in-law Myrna Dram of Wabowden, Ferne and Ken Malcolm of Vancouver, BC, Linda and Ron Hotel of Calgary, AB, Tom Bull of Edmonton, AB, Len and Brenda Bull of Brandon, Noreen and Clarke Munro of Portage, Lorri and Harry Armishaw of Carman, Joanne and Doug Henderson, and Dave and Linda Bull both of Portage; as well as 21 nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his mum and dad Grimur and Thelma Sigurdson; parents in-law George and Edna Bull; and brother-in-law George Dram. He will always be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. A family service will be held. A time of refreshments and remembering will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the MacGregor Memorial Hall. Interment will take place at Katrime Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to MacGregor Minor Hockey, Box 88, MacGregor, Manitoba, R0H 0R0 or to the St. Paul's Anglican Church, Box 707, MacGregor, Manitoba, R0H 0R0.
