KEVIN COURCHENE It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear friend, father, son and brother, Kevin Courchene, on Saturday, April 11, 2009. Kevin was born on January 7, 1975 at the Pine Falls Hospital and raised in Sagkeeng First Nation. He is survived by his children Danielle and Lyle (Selena), Kevin Jr. - Drew Bear (Tanya), Julian, Jaylyn, Jolene and beloved wife Jennifer Sawchyn. Kevin will also be lovingly remembered for his good humour and great kindness by his father Robert Courchene, mother Margaret Bunn (Peter Bunn), stepmother Annette Bruyere, brothers Lloyd (Winona), Harold (Brenda), Wesley (Claudette), Calvin (Lesley), Trevor (Devorie), Mark (Geraldine), Curtis and his sisters Nadine, Linda (Blake), Theresa (Vern), Brenda (Rob), Terry (Doug), Tracy (Greg) and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Kevin was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Ambrose and Sophie Courchene, maternal grandparents Jean Baptiste and Elizabeth Swampy and many uncles and aunts, and special friend and cousins, Lori and Emile Courchene Jr. Wake service was held at the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church, Fort Alexander, MB on Tuesday, April 14. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 18 at 2:00pm also at St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church with cremation to follow. Honourary Pallbearers will be Danielle Morrisseau, Lyle Courchene, Drew, Julian, Jaylyn and Jolene Courchene. Active Pallbearers will be Calvin Swampy, Trevor Swampy, Manny Guimond, Ramsay Courchene, Cody Morrisseau, Joshua Spence, Jesse Courchene and Colin Courchene.
