Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY ELAINE ROBERTSON (nee SUGGETT) Suddenly on Monday, April 13, 2009, Dorothy passed away at the Stonewall District Health Centre, with her niece Carolyn by her side. Dorothy will be deeply missed by sister-in-law Nettie Suggett; niece Carolyn (Peter Marinelli); and nephews, Jim (Cathy), Glen (Janet Moore), Keith, and their families. She will also be missed by the Robertson family as well as her friends and neighbours in the Stonewall area. She was very close to her niece and nephews, who referred to her simply as Auntie . She was predeceased by her father Fred (1965); mother Anne (1980); husband Ian (1995); and brother Stan (2007). Born in Winnipeg on April 13, 1924, Dorothy attended Isaac Brock and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate, followed by a long and successful career with the Hudson's Bay Company. As a young woman she enjoyed camping and traveled extensively throughout North America and overseas. She was an active curler, an enthusiastic CFL football fan, attending several Grey Cups in the 1950s, and served as a track and field official during the 1967 Pan American Games in Winnipeg. Dorothy married Ian Robertson in 1971 and together they built their retirement home on the Assiniboine River east of Poplar Point. They were active in the local community, supporting the Marquette Curling Club and the Meadows Community Hall. In 1994, Ian and Dorothy moved to the Lions Manor in Stonewall, where Dorothy lived until her recent move to the Rosewood Personal Care Home. In compliance with Dorothy's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Dorothy's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
