JOHN SHUMSKI It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Shumski, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 84. Remaining to forever cherish John's memory are his wife Julia, of 62 years; his children, Louise (Mickey) MacDonald, Joyce (Jeff) Maw and Bruce (Debbie) Shumski; grandchildren, David (Jayne), Darryl (Kathy), Jennifer (Shawn), Jason (Jennifer), Jody, Alyssa, Ryan and Curtis and numerous great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Victoria Shumski and his brother William. John was born on December 11, 1924 and spent many years working at Guaranteed Lighting and Maintenance Ltd. which he founded. He loved summers at his cottage in Grand Beach and enjoyed watching wrestling on TV along with listening to his favourite songs. John's funeral service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. For those who wish, viewing will be held prior to the service. A special thank you to the doctors and staff at the Grace General Hospital who took care of Grandpa in his final days.
