KATHERINE MARY PIRIE Peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg on Monday, April 13, 2009 after a long and determined battle with cancer, Kathy Pirie aged 48 years, beloved mother of Jim and Diana and grandmother of Taegen, joined her husband on his birthday. She leaves to mourn her mother Elsie Bell (Wendolyn), son Jim, daughter Diana (Buddy), granddaughter Taegen, brother Jim (Kim) Bell, father-in-law Ed Pirie (Joan), sisters-in-law, Cathy (Neil) Peden, Liz (Jim) Morell, brothers-in-law, Dennis (Lynn) Pirie, Perry (Evangeline) Pirie, dear friend Kay Strebly and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Kathy was predeceased by her husband Jim Pirie, father Arnold Bell, mother-in-law Barb Pirie and infant sister Diane. Kathy was born June 14, 1960 in Winnipeg, MB. Her family moved around until settling in Stonewall where she met Jim whom she married on August 25, 1979. They spent 20 wonderful years together raising their son and daughter whom Kathy loved with her whole heart. Kathy worked with the Interlake School Division for almost 19 years. She loved all the students she worked with and they loved her. She loved to spend as much time as possible at her cabin in St. Laurent and loved sharing it with her friends and family. Kathy adored her visits from her precious granddaughter Taegen and her great-niece Katie. Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Liliane Baron Breast Cancer Support Group, Box 10, Teulon, Manitoba R0C 3B0. KATHY Your ongoing strength and courage inspired us all and will continue to inspire us and carry us through these hard times. We will always feel you in our hearts.
