GUSTAVE (GUS) ALEXANDRE LARAMEE Peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2009, Gus passed away at the Grace Hospital at the age of 77 years. Remaining to forever cherish Gus' memory are his devoted wife of 52 years, Hélène (Senécal); his children, Mitch (Sheryl), Lucille (Denis Combot), André (Sandy), Monique (Joël Combot); and 11 grandchildren whom he cherished. He also leaves behind three sisters, Albertine McCaughan, Augustine Prefontaine, Yvonne Robidoux; and his brother Joseph (Eva). He was predeceased by his parents, Edmond and Yvonne (Leclerc); sisters, Cécile Prefontaine, Denise Olson, and Pauline Ciwko; and brothers Léon, Marcel, Emile and infant brother André. Gus was born January 4, 1932 at Baie St. Paul, MB. His passion for mechanics began at a young age. He started his own business, Laramée Sales and Service, in 1958 repairing all types of equipment and vehicles, and dealer for lawn and garden equipment. He dedicated many hours servicing customer's needs. He enjoyed driving school bus for the White Horse Plains School Division for several years. Gus enjoyed snowmobiling, guitar playing, travelling, camping and spending time with his family. Prayers will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Eustache Roman Catholic Church, 57 Main Street, St. Eustache, Manitoba. Funeral Mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. also in the Church, with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H., presiding. The celebration will be followed by a reception at the St. Eustache Cartier Hall. Interment will follow at a later date. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Oakview Place for their care and support for the past four years and to the staff at the Grace Hospital for their care and compassion during Dad's final hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gus' memory to a charity of one's choice.
