HENRY NEDOHIN February 28, 1922 - April 16, 2009 Peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the Victoria General Hospital, Henry Nedohin passed away at the age of 87. He is survived by his wife, Pearl, of 62 years, his only son Raymond Henry Nedohin, (Phyllis), two grandchildren, grandson, Ray Darren Nedohin (Kristen) and granddaughter, Marie Anne Nedohin. He is also survived by one brother, Murray (Elaine), two sisters, Olga Boyda and Ruth Whall (Jim). He was predeceased by four brothers: Harry, Peter, Harold, and Matt and four sisters: Marion, Pearl, Alice and Helen. Henry was born at Overstoneville on February 28, 1922 to William and Sophia Nedohin. He was one of twelve children. In his teen years he worked on the family farm until he enlisted in the military with the Princess Patricia Artillery. He was stationed in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he received his training in the capacity of Gunner. He was then called to go overseas when the war broke out, he returned in 1946. In 1947 he met and married Pearl Kracey. A June wedding followed. Dad had many occupations in his employment career retiring from his last job at Rotunda Towers working for Prall Construction. He kept very active in his retirement making many friends and spending a lot of time with his grandchildren, whom he admired. He was also an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #141. Dad had a great sense of humour and was never lost for words. He will be missed by many. We would like to thank the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Services and the Emergency Room staff at the Victoria General Hospital for all their efforts. Pallbearers will be Henry Klassen, Ray Darren Nedohin, Raymond Nedohin, Dave Sagurski, Lloyd Urbanowski, and Denis Whall. A traditional funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Green Acres Funeral Home, 1 Green Acres Lane, Hwy. #1 E. with Rev. Raymond H. Nedohin officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
