Date of Passing: Apr 15, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCECIL FRANK GOULDING Ret. Capt. CD Clasp. It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Cecil on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at his residence, at the age of 87 years. Remaining to forever cherish Cec's memory are his daughters, Maureen (Hugh) and Wendy (Jim); beloved grandchildren Karen (Sheldon), Tracey, Michelle (Jay); and great-grandchildren Daniel, Lisa and Kyla. He was predeceased by the light of his life, his wife Constance on March 19, 2007, his parents Harry and Dorothy Goulding, his sister Lou and his brother Terry. Born in Wadena, SK to Harry and Dorothy Goulding, Cecil met Constance while he was serving in the R.C.A.F. in England, during the Second World War and both were happily in love. Constance (Connie) was the love of his life and they were married in Winnipeg in 1947. Cecil retired from the R.C.A.F. in 1970, however he continued employment at Bristol Aerospace as an aircraft inspector for a further 27 years retiring for good in 1997. Cecil enjoyed life and most important to him at all times was his family. He was proud of his garden; he was a perfectionist and a jack of all trades. Since Connie's passing and a variety of medical problems, Cecil's last year became difficult. As per Cecil's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held, his family will celebrate his life as he had requested. A special thank you from the family to his neighbours Barry and Pat Hodson, John and Melody Riddel, Don and Jane Cook, as well as his military friends George LeFebvre et al, from the Old Gentleman's Club for helping him over this troublesome period. Also, special thanks to the Paramedics and Winnipeg Police Officers and Carol Youngson for their professionalism and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cecil's memory to a charity of one's choice.
