JOHN MATWEE December 22, 1922 - April 19, 2009 It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of our dad, Papa and friend to many. John passed away on April 19, 2009 at the Grace Hospital. He spent the last days surrounded by family and friends. Left to cherish dad's memories are his wife and friend of 62 years Jean; his son Larry (Kathy), daughter Elaine (John); grandchildren, Jodi, Sean and Quinton; Jennifer, Christian and Jabez; Adam and Lindsay. He also leaves behind his sister Anne, brother Mike (Mary) and large extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Bill and Joe; sister Mary and several other family members. Our family would like to thank Dr. Elkin and the staff at Charleswood Clinic; Dr. Milner and the staff at the Grace Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre for the compassionate care given to Dad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, MB Division Unit 1-452 Dovercourt Dr., Winnipeg, MB, R3Y 1G4 or Cancer Care Manitoba, ON 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or a charity of one's choice. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 4588 Roblin Boulevard, Winnipeg. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
