Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHY PETROWSKI BROWN July 5, 1955 - April 21, 2009 With her husband, family and friends by her side at Riverview Heath Centre, Kathy gave up the long and hard fought battle with cancer, April 21, 2009 at the age of 53. Kathy was predeceased by her father Charlie and brother-in-law, Wally. Left to cherish her memory are: husband Brian; mother Olga Petrowski; sister Carol Cherkas (Ernie); brother Frank Petrowski and Christopher; niece Jennifer Cherkas; nephew Grant Cherkas (Brenda) and children; close friends Janet, Lee, Shirley, Bill and Bev, Fred and Donna. Kathy began her life in Vita, Manitoba and at an early age moved to Winnipeg where she attended Fort Richmond Collegiate. Her career started with Tri-Mac Trucking then moved on to the City of Winnipeg and lastly finding her niche with Manitoba Hydro in Codes and Standards. There she met and developed numerous and close friendships. Especially were her Boss Bill McMullen, and the Electrical Inspectors whom she referred to as her boys. Her most proud accomplishment, while undergoing treatment was her ride in the Riverview Cycle On Life in June of 2008, where she completed the 15 km course and raised well over $3,000.00 in pledges. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the Doctors and Nurses at CancerCare Manitoba and the Riverview Centre who made Kathy's brief stay at a warm and compassionate experience. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint), with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in Kathy's memory to Riverview Health Centre, One Morley Avenue, Winnipeg Manitoba, R3L 2P4, or join the ride and raise pledges. Sorry for the loss of a wonderful young lady I did not know of Kathy's passing. It was a big shock to me and I will miss her deeply. Kathy was number one to me. Bye and not forgotten. - Posted by: Tony Didora (Close friend of the family ) on: Nov 02, 2016
