Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKINUE (KIKO) HIROSE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Kinue (Kiko) Hirose (nee Omoto) at the Grace Hospital on April 20, 2009 at the age of 83. Kiko is survived by her two sons, Geoffry and Stanley, her two grandchildren, Grant and Jocelyn, her sisters, Sue and Florence and her many nieces and nephews. Kinue was predeceased by her husband George Hirose, her oldest sister, Kay Matsukubo and brother Toshio Omoto. She is also, lovingly remembered by Bette Meek and Barbara Read. Kiko was a loving and caring parent, grandmother and mother-in-law, who inspired and supported the aspirations and endeavours of her family. Ba-chan was the rock' of the family, possessing a strong will and good sense of humour-she was always there when needed. She was a warm and welcoming hostess, skilled at generously offering full course meals within minutes of someone dropping by. Her children and grandchildren recall fondly the many hours spent in the extended kitchen on Roberta Avenue, with good food (the world's best deep fried wontons) and good company. She will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. There will be a public viewing at 12:00 noon. Special thanks are extended to the staff at Tuxedo Villa and Grace Hospital for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Manitoba Japanese Canadian Citizens Association (MJCCA) or the Manitoba Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (MJCCC). Chapel Lawn 885 - 9715
