Mom loved her old time Christian songs and you could always hear her humming them no matter what she was doing. When we hear these songs, we will always remember mom and she will be close to us again. She loved to cook massive meals for all of us and she loved to bake. It was her great passion. She will always be remembered for her famous Cheesecake. Mom loved the spring and summer because she could watch the pansies grow that dad always planted for her to enjoy. Her special request is for all that love her to plant a pot of pansies every year and remember her and feel her love growing through those petals. Mom spent her life making homes and places sparkle. Not a person who experienced mom's way of cleanliness was ever unhappy. Mom loved her family and friends and was always looking for a way to help all of us. When she just couldn't find a way, she would pray without ceasing for all our needs. Right through to her last days, she would pray for her dear husband, Leonard, each of her daughters and everyone of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She knew all of our needs and she kept them in her heart. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Beausejour, MB with Rev. Stan Richard officiating. Prayers and Viewing will be on Friday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour. There will also be viewing at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandson David Suttorp, grandsons-in-law Bradley Watt, Aaron Lamb, Matthew Nightingale and nephews Glenn Sawchuk and Kevin Stefaniuk. Thank you to Dr. Schmidt and staff at the Beausejour Hospital for the gentle, loving care they gave her. Thank you to all the nurses and home care staff coming to her aid. A very special thank you to Doreen for being there through all the ups and downs of this grave illness. Thank you also, to all who continued to pray for mom. She was so grateful for all the prayers. It gave her such strength. God looked around his garden And found an empty space; He then looked down upon this earth And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you And lifted you to rest; God's garden must be beautiful He only takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew that you were in pain, He knew you would never Get well upon this earth again. He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered, Peace be thine . It broke our hearts to lose you, But you never went alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home. Good Night Irene, I will seek you in my dreams.
