Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH (BETTY) BRYAN Peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 Betty passed away at Lion's Manor Personal Care Home at the age of 85 years. Betty was predeceased by her husband Ronald, daughter Connie, granddaughter Nicole and brother Harry. She will lovingly be remembered by her sons Ron (Doreen) and Robert (Elaine); brother Walter and family, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Betty was born in Leiden, Holland. She met her beloved husband Ronald, a Canadian Soldier at the end of the Second World War. They were married in Holland. Ronald went home first and Betty followed a few months later as a Dutch war bride. The first ten years of their life together was in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. In 1952 Betty helped her parents and brothers immigrate from Holland to Canada. In 1956 Betty moved to Winnipeg with Ronald and two children (Ron and Connie). Betty worked for a couple of A W's. Her first A W was the first in Winnipeg and Canada. In 1962 another son was born, Robert. Betty also devoted much of her life to caring for her parents. Mom loved music and dancing. Mom enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlepoint; making many beautiful things for herself and the family. Mom also had a great love of animals. She had many cats and dogs. When dad retired mom always wanted to go to Hawaii so they went a couple of times and her dream was fulfilled. She enjoyed bowling and going to Bingo. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a special joy in her life and brought her much happiness. A very special thank you is extended to the nurses and staff at Lion's Manor Personal Care Home, 2nd floor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's memory to a charity of one's choice. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, with a reception to follow. Chapel Lawn 885 - 9715
