CELESTIN ALARIE Soudainement, le 21 avril 2009, est décédé Célestin Alarie à l'âge de 80 ans. Il fut précédé de sa première épouse feue Léona (Sabourin). Il est survécu de sa deuxième épouse Thérèse Magne-Trudel ainsi que ses cinq enfants: Diane (Raymond Desrochers), Gisèle (Gilbert Verrier), Pauline (Kevin VanDeWalker), Robert (Maryvonne), Claudette (Blair Harrison) ainsi que ses neuf petits-fils et neuf petites-filles. Il laisse aussi cinq soeurs et trois frères, plusieurs belles-soeurs, beaux-frères, neveux, nièces et beaucoup d'amis. Célestin est né à Sainte-Agathe, MB le 20 mai 1928. Il a élevé sa famille à Saint-Boniface. Il a travaillé à Postes Canada jusqu'à sa retraite. Il a été un papa dévoué et un grand-papa tendre et aimant. Sa passion était sa famille et les voyages. L'été dernier, nous avons eu le bonheur de célébrer ensemble ses 80 ans à Waterton, AB. Toute la grande famille a profité de son initiative et s'est réjouie de cette rencontre inoubliable. Notre cher Papa aimait la nature, les couchers de soleil et la mer. Il était un écrivain sans pareil et ses lectures étaient variées allant du spirituel à l'actualité. La messe des funérailles sera célébrée le samedi 25 avril à 10 h en la Cathédrale de Saint-Boniface suivie d'une réception. En lieu de fleurs, un don peut être fait à la Fondation des maladies du coeur du Manitoba. He is predeceased by his first wife Léona (Sabourin). He is survived by his present wife Thérèse Magne-Trudel as well as his five children: Diane (Raymond Desrochers), Gisèle (Gilbert Verrier), Pauline (Kevin VanDeWalker), Robert (Maryvonne), Claudette (Blair Harrison) as well as his nine grandsons and nine granddaughters. He also leaves to mourn five sisters and three brothers, many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; nephews, nieces and many friends. Celestin was born in Sainte-Agathe, MB, May 20, 1928. He raised his family in Saint Boniface. He worked for Canada Post until his retirement. He was a devoted father and a loving, tender grandfather. His passion was his family and travelling. Last summer, we had great joy in celebrating his 80th birthday in Waterton, AB, an unforgettable family gathering, initiated by Celestin himself. Our dear dad loved nature, the sunsets and the ocean. He was very poetic, enjoyed reading and always kept up with current events. Funeral mass will be held at St. Boniface Cathedral on Saturday, April 25 at 10:00 am. Reception will follow.
